They see Lucifer as a symbol of deviation and indulgence, not an all powerful god or the true creator of men.  The people who are involved in this religion are mostly atheists and extremists. Anton LaVey is an important figure in the religion. He wrote Satanic Bible and founded the Church of Satan.
